how can i connect my computer to another in order to share files and info or even an internet connection?

I have a dell computer running win98 with DSL and I have a second with winXP.I want to connect the two by using the 1st as a source for internet access.I have a network hub(5-port)already.Also is it possible to connect the two together without establishing internet connection with an ethernet cable?

create the small office network from win xp system write down the chose a workgroup (any name) then finish up the wizard

then right click on microsoft n/w neighbourhood on win 98 system then put the workgroup name(same name on xp)….

u can share files and files will be able on the n/w neighbourhood option
